Hojicha Kukitori has an inviting woody aroma that evokes the comfort of a log cabin nestled deep in a serene forest.
Its warm honey hue and irresistible sweetness are accompanied by a delicate flavor of toasted pecans. The Japanese green tea is rich in tencha stems, making it a rare luxury.
Tencha is made by growing tea in the shade for up to a month and is usually ground to produce matcha. Once tencha has been steamed and dried, the stems are separated and expertly roasted to produce Hojicha Kukitori. Since stems are naturally low in caffeine, Hojicha Kukitori is the perfect tea for a cozy evening at home.
Prepare Hojicha Kukitori by steeping 8 grams in 240 ml of 80°C (176°F) water for 30 seconds. The first steep of Hojicha Kukitori is the most precious, and is best experienced when brewed at this lower temperature.
